Hope and Faith

A drive back after a late-night, our car stopped at a signal under one of the many Mumbai flyovers. I couldn’t help but notice a little fire and many people huddled around it. The warmth came less from the from the fire and more from their content faces.

“What keeps them going “ I thought out loud…quite loud I guess, as there came a tiny voice from the seat behind “Hope and Faith”.

Didn’t realize my children were still up and had caught the warmth too. “Mummy, they hope that there’s good ahead and faith that there’s something big, like god, who will take care…who has it all planned”

The obviousness in their tone said it all. Hope and Faith…Simple. On Dot
